Job summary

The Hassett Group is seeking a Financial Controller to lead financial control, reporting and FP&A across manufacturing and international operations. Reporting to the CFO, you will strengthen controls, enhance reporting quality and drive performance with cross-functional partners.

This hands-on leadership role covers budgeting, inventory costing, system improvements and statutory compliance, with exposure to global stakeholders and Mandarin capability highly regarded.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualified with strong Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, industrial, wholesale, distribution or another product based environment.
• Strong FP&A and commercial finance capability.
• Experience improving or optimising ERP systems and finance processes.
• Comfortable working across international operations and with offshore stakeholders.
• Hands-on leadership style with the willingness to get into the detail.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to partner across finance and non-finance functions.
• Mandarin language capability will be highly regarded but not essential.

Our client is an established product based business operating across Australia and international markets. With a combination of manufacturing, supply chain and commercial operations, the organisation operates within a dynamic and increasingly complex environment.

The business is entering an important period of growth and transformation, with a focus on strengthening financial capability, improving systems and reporting, and creating greater visibility across commercial and operational performance.

Role Summary

Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will take a broad leadership role across financial control, reporting, commercial finance and business improvement.

This is not a traditional business as usual Financial Controller position. The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening the financial foundations of the organisation while partnering closely with operational and commercial stakeholders to improve business performance.

A key focus will be improving reporting quality, strengthening controls and developing greater visibility across product profitability, inventory, costing and margins. The role will also play an important part in improving finance systems and processes across an internationally operating business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead month end close, financial reporting and general ledger integrity

Skills/Experience

• CA or CPA qualified with strong Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager experience
• Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, industrial, wholesale, distribution or another product based environment
• Strong understanding of inventory, product costing and supply chain finance
• Demonstrated FP&A and commercial finance capability
• Strong financial reporting, controls and technical accounting experience
• Experience improving or optimising ERP systems and finance processes
• Comfortable working across international operations and with offshore stakeholders
• Hands on leadership style with the willingness to get into the detail
• Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across finance and non finance functions
• Mandarin language capability will be highly regarded given the organisation's international operations, however is not essential
