Job summary

Moir Group is assisting an established Australian food manufacturing business to appoint an experienced Financial Controller on a contract basis in Brisbane. You will report to the CFO and lead the finance team to ensure accurate reporting, governance and commercial support.

Key duties include month-end close, budgeting, cash flow management and implementing robust controls. A background in agriculture or manufacturing is advantageous and availability on short notice is preferred.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification.
• Proven experience as Financial Controller or senior finance leader.
• Strong financial reporting, governance and compliance expertise.
• Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, agriculture, manufacturing or a similarly operational business environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop finance teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
• Availability to commence at short notice.

Position

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Controller will play a critical role in leading the finance team and ensuring the delivery of accurate financial reporting, strong governance and commercial support across the business. A background working inagriculture would be an advantage.

This is an initial contract of up to 12 months and requires a hands-on leader who can quickly add value in a fast-paced environment.

Profile

We are seeking a seasoned Financial Controller who combines strong technical capability with commercial acumen and leadership experience.

To be successful, you will have:

• CA or CPA qualification
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance leader
• Strong financial reporting, compliance and governance expertise
• Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, agriculture, manufacturing or a similarly operational business environment
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop finance teams
• Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills
• A proactive, adaptable and hands‑on approach
• Availability to commence at short notice will be highly regarded
