Job description

Knorr-Bremse is a global leader in the Rail and Commercial Vehicle industries, with more than 30,000 employees worldwide. In Australia, we work with some of the biggest names in both industries, providing the products, technology and services that help keep Australia moving.

Being part of Knorr-Bremse means having the backing of a global organisation while working in a local business where you can get involved, build relationships and make a difference.

We're looking for a Financial Analyst who enjoys working with numbers, is curious about how businesses operate and wants to help turn financial information into better decisions.

About the role

This is an opportunity to build your experience in financial planning and analysis while working closely with our Commercial Vehicle Systems business.

You'll be involved in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and analysing business performance, helping leaders understand their results and identify opportunities for improvement.

You'll work with stakeholders across the business, gaining an understanding of what drives performance and how financial information supports operational and commercial decisions.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting month-end and year-end financial reporting.
  • Preparing budgets, financial plans and forecasts.
  • Analysing sales, costs, headcount, capital expenditure and other business KPIs.
  • Preparing internal financial reports and business unit performance analysis.
  • Working with stakeholders to review monthly performance, explain variances and track results.
  • Supporting business planning and strategy through financial analysis.
  • Using Power BI and other reporting tools to improve financial insights.

You'll have the chance to build your reputation as someone who doesn't just produce reports but helps people understand what the numbers mean. It's an opportunity to develop your commercial skills, build relationships across the business and become a valued contributor to financial planning and decision-making.

About you

You might be working in an accounting or finance role and looking to move further into FP&A, or already have experience in financial analysis and want broader commercial exposure.

We're looking for someone who enjoys analysing information but also wants to understand the story behind the numbers.

You'll be curious, comfortable asking questions and keen to develop your understanding of how a business operates.

Ideally, you'll bring:
  • A degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
  • At least three years' experience in finance, accounting or financial analysis.
  • Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, month-end reporting or management reporting.
  • Strong Excel and financial analysis skills.
  • Experience with Power BI, or an interest in developing your capability.
  • Good communication skills and the confidence to work with different stakeholders.
  • A willingness to learn, take ownership and develop your commercial skills.

You’ll be joining a global organisation where Finance plays an important role in supporting the performance of our Australian operations.

We also offer:
  • Hybrid working arrangements.
  • 17.5% annual leave loading.
  • Opportunities to learn from experienced finance professionals.
  • Exposure to a global manufacturing and technology business.
