Job summary

HBF Health Limited is seeking a Financial Accountant for Wellness to oversee month-end accounting, tax and compliance across the Wellness division. You will collaborate with operational and finance teams to deliver high-quality financial information that informs decisions and supports governance.

Qualifications

  • Qualified financial accountant with CA ANZ or CPA designation.
  • Experience in financial accounting, reporting and compliance within a corporate setting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, governance and taxation requirements.
  • Experience preparing reconciliations, financial statements and month-end reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and finding better ways of working.

Responsibilities

  • Managing month-end financial accounting activities, including journals, reconciliations and reporting.
  • Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring integrity of records and controls.
  • Preparing special purpose financial statements and supporting year-end reporting requirements.
  • Supporting tax and compliance activities, including BAS, IAS, payroll tax and audit requirements.
  • Maintaining a strong control environment and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and governance.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency and leverage automation.
  • Supporting accounts payable activities and financial reporting obligations.

As the Financial Accountant, Wellness, you'll play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial accounting, compliance and reporting across HBF's Wellness businesses. Working closely with operational and finance stakeholders, you'll help deliver high quality financial information that supports decision-making, regulatory compliance and business performance. This is a hands-on role that combines technical accounting expertise with leadership and continuous improvement. You'll oversee the month-end process, support tax and compliance activities, contribute to statutory reporting requirements and provide coaching and support to a direct report, helping drive strong financial outcomes across the division.

Required qualifications and experience
  • CA ANZ or CPA qualification
  • Demonstrated experience in financial accounting, reporting and compliance within a corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, governance and taxation requirements
  • Experience preparing reconciliations, financial statements and month-end reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP or accounting systems
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A passion for continuous improvement and finding better ways of working
