Qualifications

• CPA qualified or studying toward CPA with 2–3 years of accounting experience.
• Experience with month-end, accounts payable, and BAS.
• Strong Excel skills and experience using accounting systems.
• Detail‑oriented with ability to meet deadlines and collaborate.

Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end journals, reconciliations and financial reports.
• Manage full accounts payable cycle (invoices, expenses, payments).
• Prepare and lodge BAS accurately and on time.
• Complete bank and general ledger reconciliations.
• Support management reporting and budgeting.
• Provide documentation and explanations for annual audits, company tax returns and FBT.
• Work with other departments to resolve discrepancies and improve accounting processes.

An international financial services company is seeking an Accountant to join its Sydney finance team. Reporting to the Australian Financial Controller, you’ll join a small team supporting the Australian business.

The duties include:

• Preparing month-end journals, reconciliations and financial reports.
• Managing the full accounts payable cycle, including invoices, expenses and payments.
• Preparing and lodging BAS accurately and on time.
• Completing bank and general ledger reconciliations.
• Supporting management reporting and budgeting.
• Providing documentation and explanations for annual audits, company tax returns and FBT.
• Working with other departments to resolve discrepancies and improve accounting processes.

You’ll be CPA qualified or currently studying towards your CPA, with at least two to three years’ relevant accounting experience including:

• Practical experience across month-end, accounts payable and BAS.
• Strong Excel skills and experience using accounting systems.
• Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• A willingness to learn and take ownership of your work.

Financial services experience is welcome, although candidates from other industries will also be considered. Mandarin or Cantonese language skills would be an advantage.
