Job summary

Sharp & Carter is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant for an immediate start in Sydney Olympic Park. You will own month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory reporting across the ANZ region within a global business.

The role requires CA/CPA, 8+ years in financial/corporate accounting or group reporting, strong SAP expertise, and a proactive, autonomous approach to drive process improvements and ensure strong financial controls.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Financial Accounting, Corporate Accounting or Group Reporting.
• Experience in medium to large-scale organisations ($300M+ revenue preferred).
• Strong understanding of month-end processes and financial controls.

Responsibilities

• Managing month-end close activities including journals, accruals, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Supporting treasury activities including daily cash management, cash flow forecasting and liquidity reporting.
• Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving accounting issues in a timely manner.
• Overseeing payroll accounting, provisions and employee-related accounting entries.
• Managing lease accounting in accordance with IFRS16/AASB16 requirements.
• Partnering with corporate cost centre managers across Finance, HR, Legal and other functions to manage spend, accruals and forecasts.
• Reviewing AP payment runs and maintaining appropriate financial controls.
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and management reporting activities.
• Preparing audit deliverables and assisting with statutory compliance requirements.
• Driving process improvement and automation initiatives across the finance function.

The Company & Role

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a well-established global business. In this critical role, you will take ownership of key corporate accounting activities across the ANZ business, ensuring strong financial control, accurate reporting, and effective stakeholder engagement.

• Experience within medium to large-scale organisations ($300M+ revenue preferred)
• Strong SAP experience (essential)
• Strong understanding of balance sheet management, month-end processes, statutory reporting and financial controls
• A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work autonomously
