Qualifications

• 10 years of accounting experience is preferred.
• Experience in construction and property sectors is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Xero accounting software.
• CA or CPA qualification is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Month end closure and accounts payable/receivable.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper recording of transactions.
• Prepare monthly accounts and cashflow statements.
• Prepare invoices and BAS statements for external review.
• Process payroll and superannuation.
• Maintain the fixed asset register.
• Attend to ad hoc finance and administration matters.

An experienced Accountant role with a leading construction company focused on delivering quality projects in commercial construction, tenancy work and retail and construction solutions. This is a 3-month contract position based in Wetherill Park, providing accounting services to support the client's construction business.

Key responsibilities

• Month end closure and accounts payable and receivable
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring all transactions are properly recorded
• Preparing monthly accounts and cashflow statements
• Preparing invoices and BAS statements for review by external accounting firm
• Processing payroll and superannuation
• Maintaining the fixed asset register
• Attending to ad hoc finance and administration matters

About you

• Ideally 10 years accounting experience
• Strong preference for experience in construction and property sectors with understanding of sector finance nuances
• Proficiency in Xero
• Degree qualified with CA/CPA qualification
• Self-starting with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to work with colleagues and management
