Perigon Group is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant for a well-established construction business in North Lakes, Queensland. This 3‑month contract suits an immediately available professional who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and will own month‑end, reporting and project accounting.

You will review budgets, monitor project costs, ensure revenue recognition, maintain controls, and provide financial insights to project managers to support commercial decisions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CA or CPA qualified, or nearing completion.
• Experience in a Senior Financial Accountant or similar role.
• Experience in construction, engineering, infrastructure or other project-based industry preferred.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and end-to-end month-end experience.
• Commercially minded with ability to communicate findings to non-finance stakeholders.
• Advanced Excel and large ERP systems experience.
• Proactive approach with strong attention to detail and prioritisation.

Responsabilités

• Prepare monthly financial reports, management accounts and variance analysis.

The Company

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join a well-established construction business. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong finance professional who enjoys working in a project-driven environment and wants to play an important role in the financial performance of the business.

Working closely with senior finance and operational stakeholders, you will take ownership of financial reporting, month-end processes and project accounting, while identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and reporting across the finance function.

The Role

This 3-month contract will suit an immediately available or soon-to-be available Senior Financial Accountant who enjoys working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Duties include but are not limited to:

About You

Skills and Experience:

• Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• CA or CPA qualified, or nearing completion.
• Previous experience in a Senior Financial Accountant or similar role.
• Experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure or another project-based industry will be highly regarded.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience managing end-to-end month-end processes.
• Commercially minded, with the ability to analyse financial information and communicate findings to non-finance stakeholders.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large ERP systems.
• A proactive approach, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
