Job summary

Moir Group is seeking a Financial Accountant to partner with senior leaders, understand budgets and performance, and identify cost-saving opportunities. You will deliver timely management reports with variance analysis and actionable insights, while supporting planning and month-end processes.

The role requires CPA/CA or related degree, strong Excel and Dynamics GP experience, and a proactive, collaborative approach within a hybrid CBD-based setting.

Qualifications

• CPA/CA qualification or degree in Accounting/Finance/Commerce.
• Strong technical financial and management accounting knowledge.
• Experience in management reporting and financial business partnering.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Exec and Commercial Directors to understand budgets, performance and drivers.
• Provide timely management reporting, variance analysis, commentary, and insights.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning across divisions.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, manage costs and drive initiatives.
• Prepare ad hoc financial analysis for Exec leadership and Board.
• Complete month-end processes, including accruals and reconciliations.
• Train stakeholders on financial matters, systems and policies.
• Support audits and finance system improvements.

Position

As a Financial Accountant, you’ll work closely with commercial leaders to understand performance, optimise spend and identify opportunities for improvement. You’ll provide trusted financial advice while promoting a culture of transparency, accountability and strong financial management.

You will:

• Partner with Executive and Commercial Directors to understand budgets, performance and key business drivers.
• Provide timely management reporting, including variance analysis, commentary and actionable business insights.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes, including coordination of divisional inputs.
• Identify performance improvement opportunities, manage costs and recommend best-practice initiatives.
• Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and reporting for Executive leadership and the Board.
• Complete month-end processes, including accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Train and support business stakeholders on financial matters, systems and policies.
• Support audit activities, finance system improvements and promote financial accountability across the business.

Profile

• CPA/CA qualification/degreein Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
• Strong technical financial and management accounting knowledge.
• Relevant experience in management reporting and financial business partnering.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and financial modelling skills.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to ask questions, challenge assumptions and influence outcomes.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP and advanced Microsoft Excel is highly desirable
