Job summary

Response Centre, an established Australian owned water industry company, seeks a Financial Accountant or Management Accountant to partner with the CFO and FC to improve timeliness and accuracy of accounting processes. You will work across the finance team and with Business Unit Managers, demanding strong communication and organisational skills with a commercial mindset.

Responsibilities include consolidation, governance of the general ledger, month-end controls, revenue and receivables

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA/CA qualified (or working towards).
• 3+ years experience in a similar financial accounting role.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and compliance.
• Proficiency in ERP and accounting software.
• Strong reconciliation skills and a problem-solving mindset.

Job description

We are a well established Australian owned company that deals within the water industry. Our Head Office is based in the Sydney CBD and we have branches throughout Australia.

We have grown considerably over the last few years and built a successful, multidisciplined company with a reputation for quality products and services.

Recently we have made a number of acquisitions and we are looking to appoint a Financial Accountant or Management Accountant to work with our CFO and FC improving the timeliness and accuracy of our accounting processes.

You will be working across the finance team and also with individual Business Unit Managers so you need to be a confident communicator, highly organised and capable of strong commercial/financial management.

The areas of responsibility include:

• Group Consolidation and Financial Reporting
• Enterprise Trial Balance and General Ledger Governance
• Month-End Control and Balance Sheet Integrity
• Revenue, Receivables and Shared-Services Oversight
• Tax and Statutory Compliance
• Finance Systems, ERP and Data Governance
• Management Reporting and FP&A Support
• Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement

Ideally we are looking for an experienced person with:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA/CA qualified (or working towards)
• 3 plus’ experience in a similar financial accounting role
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and compliance
• Proficiency in ERP and accounting software
• Strong reconciliation skills and a problem-solving mindset

The role is Monday to Friday and normal office hours. After an initial period there may be the opportunity to work 1-2 days from home depending on business requirements.
