Job summary

Lotus Commercial seeks a Financial Accountant to support the Finance Manager in a broad, hands-on role within a fast-paced environment in Melbourne. You will lead AP activities, assist with financial reporting, and help ensure accurate lease accounting and internal controls.

You will work with internal stakeholders, improve processes, and contribute to payroll reporting and lease record maintenance. This role requires detail orientation and strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal processing.
• Support month-end and year-end close.
• Oversee Accounts Payable processes and supervise a small AP team.
• Verify vendor records to prevent fictitious payees and ensure timely, accurate invoice processing.
• Drive strong controls with accurate 3-way PO matching and prevent duplicate or erroneous payments.
• Track fleet-related expenses (fuel, e-Tags, repairs) and manage cost allocations.
• Investigate aged payables and support compliance with internal controls.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in finance processes and systems.
• Support payroll processing and related reporting.
• Maintain accurate records of finance and operating leases in compliance with accounting standards.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve queries efficiently.
