Job summary

Freighter Group is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to maintain accurate financial records, prepare monthly management accounts, and provide insights to support business decisions.

You will ensure statutory compliance and assist with month-end and year-end closings, collaborating with department managers to explain financial results. 2–5 years in corporate/manufacturing accounting and strong Excel/SAP skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• CA or CPA qualification is highly desirable.
• 2–5 years of experience in a corporate or manufacturing accounting role.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and SAP S/4HANA experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet monthly deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial performance reports.
• Compliance: Manage end-of-month and end-of-year closing processes, including BAS, IAS, and FBT returns.
• Analysis & Budgeting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, monthly rolling forecasts, and variance analysis to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities.
• Transactional Oversight: Oversee or assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll integrity checks as required.
• Process Improvement: Review current financial processes and systems to identify inefficiencies and implement streamlined practices.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with department managers to explain financial results and assist with cost-center management.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, commercially minded Accountant to join our finance team. • Experience: Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a similar corporate or manufacturing accounting role.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP s4 Hana preferable)
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional analytical skills with a proven track record of maintaining high accuracy under tight monthly deadlines.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear summaries for non-financial managers.
