Job summary

Kennedy Reid Pty is seeking a highly motivated Junior Accountant to support a growing finance team, blending transactional accounting with commercial analysis. You will work with senior stakeholders and gain exposure to day-to-day financial operations, month-end reporting, and process improvements.

The role offers cross-functional exposure across finance, sales and operations, with opportunities to enhance technical accounting skills while building business insights and long-term career

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA qualification or actively pursuing CPA preferred.
• Experience in accounting/finance in a commercial environment beneficial.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close activities including journal processing and account reconciliations.
• Review and analyze sales transactions for policy and promo compliance.
• Coordinate retail close with internal sales teams and prepare GL/balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with tax documentation and financial controls; support budgeting and forecasting.
• Review commissions and incentive payments; assist with vehicle buyback processing.
• Prepare financial and operational reports for decision-making; conduct pricing and performance analyses.

Key Responsibilities Financial Accounting

• Support month-end close activities including journal processing and account reconciliations
• Review and analyse sales transactions to ensure compliance with business policies and promotional requirements
• Coordinate retail close activities with internal sales teams
• Prepare and reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts
• Process and review purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Assist with tax-related documentation and financial controls
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Review commission calculations and incentive payments
• Assist with vehicle buyback processing and related financial transactions

Financial Analysis & Business Support

• Prepare financial and operational reporting to support business decision-making
• Conduct pricing analysis and commercial evaluations
• Analyse trends and business performance data
• Provide insights and recommendations to improve business outcomes
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and controls

Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner closely with Finance, Sales, Operations, IT and other key business functions
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting and data integrity
• Support broader team initiatives and ad hoc projects as required

About You To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• CPA qualified or currently working towards CPA certification (preferred)
• Previous accounting or finance experience, ideally within a commercial environment
• Experience working with SAP or a similar ERP system (advantageous)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive mindset with a desire to learn and continuously improve
