Daydream Island Resort is seeking a hands-on Finance professional focused on Accounts Receivable to support day-to-day financial operations on Whitsunday Island, QLD. You will manage invoicing, payments, reconciliations and liaise with internal teams and external clients to ensure accurate and timely processing.

The role involves month-end activities, financial reporting preparation, and general finance administration; prior hotel experience and strong Excel skills are essential.

Responsabilités

• Assist day-to-day accounts receivable tasks: invoicing, allocations, and reconciliations.
• Monitor overdue balances and follow up to ensure timely collections.
• Reconcile guest and corporate receivables; resolve billing discrepancies.
• Process daily revenue, banking and card transactions; maintain records.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders on accounts and payments.
• Support month-end processes, financial reporting, and audit prep.
• Provide general finance admin support including accounts payable when needed.

Daydream Island Resort & Living Reef is located in the heart of Queensland's Whitsunday Islands and the gateway to the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef. With stunning views out to the impossibly blue waters of the Whitsundays, it is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the island.

The island is one of the closest Whitsunday islands to the mainland (Airlie Beach) with spectacular 30-minute ferry ride to work each day.

This is a hands-on finance position with a strong focus on Accounts Receivable, supporting the day to day financial operations of our busy resort.

Working closely with the Finance team, you will play an important role in ensuring accurate financial transactions, managing outstanding accounts and supporting the smooth operation of the Finance Departments.

About the role:

• Assist with the day-to-day accounts receivable function, including invoicing, payment allocations and account reconciliations.
• Monitor outstanding debtor balances and proactively follow up overdue accounts to ensure timely collection.
• Reconcile guest accounts, corporate accounts and other receivables.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, payment enquiries and account adjustments.
• Process and reconcile daily revenue, banking and credit card transactions.
• Liaise with internal departments, corporate clients and external stakeholders regarding accounts and payments.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Assist with month-end processes, financial reporting and audit preparation.
• Provide general finance administration support, including assisting with accounts payable and other finance functions when required.

About You:

• Previous experience in a hotel or resort finance department is essential.
• Demonstrated experience in accounts receivable, debtor management, reconciliations and payment processing.
• A sound understanding of hotel financial operations, revenue processes and internal controls.
• Experience using hotel property management systems and accounting software, with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to follow up outstanding accounts professionally.
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
• A proactive, flexible and hands-on approach.
