Job summary

The CareSide is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead our finance function, maintain strong financial controls and support the continued development of our financial systems and processes. Reporting directly to the COO, the role oversees a team of 11 finance professionals across Australian and offshore operations.

The successful candidate will take ownership of financial reporting, regulatory compliance, financial controls and the effective delivery of day‑to‑day finance operations.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualified.
• Experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar senior finance role.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and ability to prepare management and statutory financial reports.
• Experience managing a finance team and overseeing multiple financial functions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex financial issues.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with operational teams and senior management.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems.
• Hands-on approach, strong attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process and prepare accurate, timely monthly management reports.
• Prepare quarterly board reporting packs and attend board meetings.
• Coordinate end-of-financial-year reporting, including the preparation of General Purpose Financial Statements.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, financial journals and the integrity of financial information.
• Monitor financial performance and provide meaningful analysis to support management decision-making.
• Prepare quarterly bank covenant reporting and oversee annual insurance renewals.
• Coordinate annual Fringe Benefits Tax reporting and support other statutory reporting requirements.
• Oversee financial reporting and compliance for government-funded home care services.
• Manage monthly CHSP reporting and weekly government funding claims.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, funding, collections and client billing.
