Job summary

Geodrill Australia is seeking a Finance Manager – Financial Control & Reporting to lead daily financial management, close processes, and robust reporting. The role collaborates with the CEO and Leadership Team to deliver accurate, timely financial information, strong controls and disciplined cash/working-capital management.

Key work includes budgeting, forecasting, project costing, profitability analysis, and coordinating with external accountants. Mining/construction experience is valued.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualification or equivalent experience required.
• Strong management and financial accounting capability.
• Experience in project-based, contracting, mining, construction, or manufacturing environments.
• Excellent cashflow, budgeting, forecasting and working-capital skills.
• Experience with project costing and profitability analysis.
• Advanced Excel and accounting systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly financial close and management reporting process.
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance and performance analysis.
• Maintain cashflow forecasts and working-capital reporting.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll reconciliations, and GL integrity.
• Coordinate BAS, PAYG and statutory reporting with external accountants.
• Develop budgets and rolling forecasts.

• Reconcile production and revenue forecasts to actuals.

Finance Manager – Financial Control & Reporting

The Finance Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management, accuracy, control and reporting of the Group's financial position. Working directly with the CEO, the role will ensure the business has reliable financial information, strong financial controls, disciplined cash and working-capital management, and meaningful project and business performance reporting. The CEO will retain overall financial oversight, strategic financial leadership and Board accountability. The Finance Manager will own the underlying finance function and ensure the CEO and Leadership Team have accurate, timely information on which to make decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly financial close and management reporting process
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance and performance analysis
• Maintain short and medium-term cashflow forecasts and working-capital reporting
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll reconciliations and general ledger integrity
• Manage BAS, PAYG, statutory reporting and coordination with external accountants and advisers
• Develop and maintain budgets and rolling financial forecasts
• Produce project profitability, margin, revenue, cost and performance reporting
• Reconcile operational production and revenue forecasts to actual financial outcomes
• Maintain appropriate financial controls, authorities, reconciliations and accounting processes
• Support preparation of financial information for monthly CEO and Board reporting

About you

• CA/CPA qualification or equivalent experience
• Strong management and financial accounting capability
• Experience in project-based, contracting, mining, construction, manufacturing or another operational environment
• Strong cashflow, budgeting, forecasting and working-capital experience
• Demonstrated experience with project/job costing and profitability analysis
• Advanced Excel capability and strong accounting systems knowledge
• The confidence to work directly with senior operational leaders
• A practical, positive and solutions-focused approach
• The ability to take ownership while remaining comfortable operating in a hands-on finance environment
