Job summary

NSW Department of Customer Service – Orange NSW is seeking a Finance Support Officer with a focus on debt. The role supports debt management processing, client contact and invoicing analysis to sustain agency cashflow and government services in NSW.

You will contribute to process improvements, assist with system testing and work within a collaborative Revenue & Debt Management team to ensure compliance and high-quality customer service.

Qualifications

• Has experience in debt collection, accounts receivable, revenue management or a similar finance environment.
• Demonstrates strong customer service and communication skills.
• Can analyse information and make sound decisions within policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Undertake debt management processing activities, including inbound and outbound customer contact.
• Analyse invoices, payment arrangements and account information to support debt recovery and agency cashflow.
• Monitor and action debt management requests in line with SLAs.
• Provide accurate, timely debt management advice to customers and staff.
• Assist with identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems and documentation.
• Support testing of financial system enhancements and upgrades.
