Job summary

FourQuarters Recruitment seeks a manufacturing accounting professional to own BOM integrity, cost analysis, labour reporting and month-end processes in Sydney. You will partner with the Finance Manager and production leaders to strengthen financial visibility and drive costing improvements.

You will analyse variances, prepare labour costing reports, and collaborate with production teams on costing assumptions, scrap and run-rate data.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualified or working toward completion
• Experience in manufacturing or cost accounting environments
• Strong BOM, standard costing and labour costing knowledge
• Ability to translate data into practical insights for operations

Responsibilities

• Maintain and review Bills of Materials (BOMs), routing data and standard costs
• Analyse material, labour and overhead variances, providing clear commentary to operations
• Prepare weekly and monthly labour costing reports, including productivity and utilisation insights
• Partner with production teams to validate costing assumptions, scrap, yield and run-rate data
• Support inventory accounting, stock reconciliations and cycle count processes
• Deliver month-end activities including journals, accruals, cost centre reporting and manufacturing P&L
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting for production volumes, labour requirements and cost drivers
• Strengthen costing models, manufacturing controls and data accuracy across ERP systems
• Provide ad-hoc analysis to support operational decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives

The Opportunity

Working closely with the Finance Manager and production leaders, you will take ownership of core manufacturing accounting activities including BOM integrity, cost analysis, labour reporting and month‑end processes. You’ll play a key role in strengthening financial visibility across the factory and supporting continuous improvement in costing and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and review Bills of Materials (BOMs), routing data and standard costs
• Analyse material, labour and overhead variances, providing clear commentary to operations
• Prepare weekly and monthly labour costing reports, including productivity and utilisation insights
• Partner with production teams to validate costing assumptions, scrap, yield and run‑rate data
• Support inventory accounting, stock reconciliations and cycle count processes

About You

• CA/CPA qualified or working toward completion

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into practical insights
• Hands‑on, detail‑driven and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment
