Job summary

Michael Page is partnering with a reputable manufacturing organisation in Melbourne to recruit a Management Accountant. The role sits within a high-performing finance team, delivering accurate costing, BOM analysis and financial reporting to support operational decisions.

You will own inventory costing, variance analysis, and monthly board reporting, while collaborating across functions and contributing to process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyse manufacturing BOMs and costing structures to ensure accuracy and alignment with business requirements.
• Monitoring inventory transactions, stock movements and cycle counts, including investigation and reporting of variances.
• Analyse manufacturing, purchase price and inventory variances, providing insights and recommendations to management.
• Manage inventory adjustments, write-offs, ageing and obsolescence provisions in line with company policies and accounting standards.
• Provide inventory, costing and financial analysis to support manufacturing programs, projects and financial controls.
• Monthly management and board reporting and presentations.
• Support new manufacturing projects, systems and process improvement initiatives.
• Assist with audit and tax requirements, including preparation of supporting documentation.

Job Description

The Management Accountant will be responsible for the following:

• Maintain and analyse manufacturing BOMs and costing structures to ensure accuracy and alignment with business requirements.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Management Accountant should have:

• A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.


• Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system


• Professional accreditation such as CPA or CA.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Experience in a similar role within manufacturing or an adjacent industry


• Experience with inventory accounting, product costing


• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.


• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.


• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with stakeholders.


• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.


• Knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.
