Job summary

Professional Search Group is representing a Management Accountant role in the Northern Suburbs of Perth. This permanent full-time position focuses on turning financial data into actionable insights to improve production efficiency and profitability.

The successful candidate will own monthly reporting, budgeting, cost analysis and cost control, partnering with operations to drive commercial outcomes and continuous improvement across the manufacturing value chain.

Qualifications

• Experience in management accounting or commercial finance.
• Exposure to manufacturing/operational environments is preferred.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis skills.
• Understanding of inventory accounting and production costing is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management reports, budgets and forecasts.
• Analyze production costs, margins and profitability to identify improvements.
• Monitor inventory, stock movements and cost of goods sold.
• Investigate variances and explain performance against budget and standard costs.
• Support standard costing, bills of materials (BOMs) and manufacturing cost analysis.
• Partner with operations leaders to improve financial performance and cost efficiency.
• Support financial planning, modelling and business decision-making.
• Drive continuous improvement in reporting, processes and controls.

The opportunity

You’ll play a key role in providing financial and commercial insight across manufacturing operations, with responsibilities including:

• Preparing monthly management reports, budgets and forecasts.
• Analysing production costs, margins and profitability to identify improvement opportunities.
• Monitoring inventory, stock movements and cost of goods sold.
• Investigating production variances and explaining performance against budget and standard costs.
• Supporting standard costing, bills of materials (BOMs) and manufacturing cost analysis.
• Partnering with operational leaders to improve financial performance and cost efficiency.
• Supporting financial planning, modelling and business decision-making.
• Driving continuous improvement in reporting, processes and financial controls.

About you

You’re analytical, commercially curious and comfortable working with people outside finance. You enjoy understanding how a business operates and using financial information to influence better outcomes.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Experience in management accounting, cost accounting or commercial finance.
• Exposure to manufacturing, production or another operationally intensive environment.
• Strong financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis skills.
• An understanding of inventory accounting, product costing and production costs.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems; SAP experience is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively.
• CA/CPA qualifications, or progress towards them, are desirable.
