Job summary

Subsurface Mapping Solutions Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced bookkeeper/finance administrator to own daily bookkeeping, payroll and financial administration for Subsurface Mapping Solutions and SMS Equipment Hire Pty Ltd.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will maintain Xero records, process payments, reconciliations, BAS/GST/PAYG, intercompany balances and provide monthly P&L and cash flow reports from Arundel on the Gold Coast.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Xero bookkeeping and Australian payroll experience.
• Experience managing AP, AR and reconciliations.
• Understanding BAS, GST, PAYG and superannuation processes.
• Ability to work across related entities and reconcile intercompany balances.
• Accurate, well-organised and able to communicate clearly with colleagues and advisers.
• Experience with property administration or SMSF records is useful.

Responsibilities

• Maintain day-to-day Xero bookkeeping for both companies, including general ledger entries and accurate supporting records.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, supplier payments, invoicing and debtor follow-up.
• Complete bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Review weekly timesheets and process weekly payroll, including superannuation and payroll records.
• Prepare BAS, GST and PAYG information and work with the external accountant on reviews, lodgements and year-end requirements.
• Record and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.
• Handle basic SMSF property administration, including rent records, property expenses and documents for the accountant and auditor.
• Prepare monthly profit and loss reports and straightforward cash flow reports for the Managing Director.
• Keep finance files, records and routine administration organised.
