Job summary

Gold Coast CFO Advisory Services on the Gold Coast is seeking an experienced senior bookkeeper to join our small, loyal practice. You’ll manage day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll processing, BAS/IAS, and maintain tight controls across Xero and MYOB, with daily payroll as a fixed deliverable.

Work is split between our Benowa office and home-based arrangements, allowing steady, flexible hours. You’ll report directly to the owner and help us scale as we expand client services and back-office

Qualifications

• Senior-level bookkeeping experience with Xero and MYOB
• Ability to manage payroll daily and BAS/IAS preparation
• Comfort working with a small team and owner directly

What the role actually involves

• Day-to-day bookkeeping: coding, reconciliations and tidy-ups across Xero and MYOB

• Preparing BAS's and IAS's

• Running payroll every day, taking this over from the founder

• Acting as the key point of contact between our onshore team and our offshore team, handling their queries and reviewing their work so BAS's are lodged accurately and on time

• Keeping recurring lodgement deadlines on track

This is a Senior Bookkeeper role for someone who can hit the ground running. Payroll is a daily, non-negotiable part of it, though how you manage the rest of your time across the week is up to you. You'll also own the relationship with our offshore team, a responsibility that currently sits with the founder that we are freeing up time for. As you settle in and we get to know your work, there's room to grow into more if you want it.

This is probably you if

• You've got real bookkeeping experience behind you and you're past the stage of wanting to build your own client base. You just want good work, done well, with people who appreciate you

• You're available daily to run payroll

• You can prepare a BAS in your sleep (you'll be reviewing other people's work, so you need to know one cold)

• You have solid experience in both Xero and MYOB, non-negotiable; QuickBooks experience is a bonus

• You're proactive, with strong problem-solving skills. You back yourself to work things out and run with them rather than wait to be told.

• You're happy juggling several client files at once and switching between them quickly. That rhythm energises you rather than rattles you.

The setup

• Daily part-time, school-friendly hours

• Gold Coast based preferred. You'll start in our office so we can train you properly and get you confident, then working from home is the preference, with the option to come into the office from time to time if needed.

• A permanent part-time employee role with a practice that's going places and wants you along for the ride. We're open to a contracting arrangement for the right person.
