Job summary

Horizons West Bus and Coachlines is seeking an Accounts Support Officer on a 6-month fixed-term contract, with potential for permanency. The role supports core finance operations, including AP processing, payroll support, reconciliations, and reporting, within a collaborative team focused on accuracy and compliance.

The ideal candidate has finance or payroll-related experience, strong attention to detail, and solid Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in a finance or payroll-related role.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in accurate data entry and document control, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to work autonomously, within a team environment, and under direction.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end accounts payable processing, including invoice entry, PO matching, payment processing, reconciliations, and supplier maintenance.
• Assist payroll and accounts receivable functions, providing support during peak periods and staff absences.
• Process staff reimbursements, credit notes, and ad-hoc payments in line with internal controls and approval frameworks.
• Prepare reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for month-end close and financial reporting.
• Respond to internal and external accounts enquiries and liaise with operational teams to resolve billing or payment issues.
• Contribute to maintenance and continuous improvement of finance procedures, controls, systems and processes.
