Gold Fields Group Services (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced Production Engineer to facilitate efficient ore extraction through robust production planning and scheduling. You will develop and manage short- to medium-term plans, ensuring targets are met while upholding EHS standards and delivering value.

The role involves two-week mine scheduling, close collaboration with Senior Mine Production Engineer, and the design of drill and blast strategies using up-to-date geological and economic data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
• Underground/surface mining experience with exposure to longhole drilling, blasting, ventilation, projects, planning and scheduling – preferably gold
• Exposure to contract mining environments
• Demonstrated practical underground experience
• Experience using mining software such as Deswik

Responsabilités

• Develop and manage the two-week mine schedule in consultation with key stakeholders, ensuring it aligns with operational capability and supports the achievement of the three-monthly schedule (3MS) objectives.
• Support the success of the mining operation by working closely with the Senior Mine Production Engineer to drive and achieve planned production and safety targets.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of reporting (Weekly variance reports, Daily reports, performance tracking etc) to support informed decision-making.
• Create competent, consistent and optimal drill and blast designs that account for the most up-to-date economic and geological information.
• Monitor progress and performance to ensure activities remain aligned with weekly production targets and are completed safely.
