Job summary

Pearson Carter is seeking an experienced FIFO L2/L3 IT Support / Infrastructure Technician for a remote mining environment in Western Australia. This hands-on, on-site role covers desktop and server support and requires managing incidents through to resolution on a 3-month initial contract with potential extension.

You will work with Cisco, Dell, Cisco UCS and Pure Storage, support remote site users, and collaborate with internal IT teams and service providers.

Qualifications

• Previous FIFO experience is essential.
• Strong Level 2/3 IT support experience in a hands-on environment.
• Good knowledge across desktop support, networking, wireless and infrastructure.
• Experience supporting users in mining, resources, utilities or another remote/site-based environment is highly desirable.
• Cisco experience is advantageous, with exposure to enterprise infrastructure such as Dell, UCS or Pure Storage a bonus.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote and challenging environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2/3 IT support across desktops, laptops, hardware, software and user issues.
• Troubleshoot networking, wireless, communications and connectivity issues.
• Provide basic support across servers and wider IT infrastructure.
• Work with technologies including Cisco, Dell, Cisco UCS, Pure Storage and wireless environments.
• Support remote site users and manage incidents through to resolution or escalation.
• Assist with general IT maintenance, troubleshooting and site technology requirements.
• Work closely with internal IT teams and external service providers to resolve more complex issues.
