Job summary

Whittens is seeking a FIFO Project Manager to lead and manage large-scale civil infrastructure projects (FRP/Earthworks) on national rosters. The role focuses on delivering safe, efficient, and compliant projects while coordinating with client teams and Whittens leadership.

You will oversee a self-perform workforce, manage interface relationships, and drive project objectives in a dynamic, safety-first environment. This permanent role offers long-term opportunities and competitive remuneration.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering preferred.
• Demonstrated project management experience with a civil contractor.
• Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing a direct self-perform workforce.
• Strong communication skills with clients, site teams and leadership.
• Exceptional time and priority management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Build and retain key interface relationships with Client, site teams and Whittens leadership.
• Deliver projects with a high-performing safe and sustainable team.
• Determine construction methods, materials, and quality standards, and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Prepare and submit notifications to the Client as required.
• Organise, plan and manage direct site labour and workforce planning.
• Assess costs and negotiate variations with the Commercial team.
• Ensure compliance with contract notices and manage subcontractors.
• Identify and support emerging leaders and facilitate upskilling and development plans.
• Track and review cost data with weekly project reviews.
