Job summary

Whittens, a family-owned civil construction contractor, is seeking a 2/1 FIFO Construction Manager to lead self-perform civil infrastructure projects across WA. You will oversee planning, budgeting and safety on site, coordinating with engineers, subcontractors and suppliers.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Construction Management and 8+ years of experience in civil contracting, with FIFO exposure, strong English communication and leadership.

• 8+ years experience with a Civil Contractor overseeing self-perform civil infrastructure projects
• Excellent planning, monitoring and documentation skills
• Experience with FIFO infrastructure projects
• Excellent communication skills in English

• Self-starter with well-developed organisational and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Monitor project progress and implement adjustments to ensure safety and quality compliance.
• Conduct regular site inspections to uphold safety practices and mitigate risks.
• Manage and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Liaise with stakeholders to communicate project status, address concerns, and negotiate contracts.

We are recruiting a 2/1 FIFO Construction Manager with experience in self-perform civil Infrastructure projects who have a genuine interest to positively influence project delivery and promote a memorable culture at Whittens. Key responsibilities will include:

About You

To Be Successful, You will Have the Following

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management
• At least 8 years+ experience with a Civil Contractor overseeing self-perform civil infrastructure projects - A must
• Excellent planning, monitoring and documentation skills
• Experience with FIFO infrastructure projects
• Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
• Demonstrated safety and environmental leadership behaviour
• Self-starter, with well-developed organisational and stakeholder management skills
