Job summary

Amtek is seeking a Field Technician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain electronic equipment at customer sites. Based at the Brisbane depot in Geebung, you will service Brisbane and nearby areas with regular travel to the Gold Coast and Southern NSW regions.

This hands-on role involves significant daily driving, with a fully maintained company vehicle, tools, and equipment provided. Training and support will help you grow technical skills in the field.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and customer service skills required.
• Basic computer hardware and software knowledge.
• Experience with PC repairs, installations or technical troubleshooting.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and develop technical skills.
• Must pass medical and police checks.
• Experience installing EFTPOS, POS, networking or electronic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install, replace and maintain EFTPOS terminals, POS systems, pin pads, PCs, peripherals, scanners, scales and networking gear.
• Diagnose faults at customer sites and perform repairs.
• Provide professional customer service while resolving technical issues.
• Complete equipment installations, upgrades and replacements accurately and efficiently.
• Manage assigned jobs from start to finish and ensure high-quality work.
• Maintain boot stock records and handle parts/equipment responsibly.
• Travel regularly between customer locations as part of field operations.

The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Field Technician to install, replace, troubleshoot, and maintain electronic equipment at customer locations.

Based at our Brisbane depot in Geebung, this role services customers throughout Brisbane and surrounding areas, with regular travel to locations south of Brisbane, including the Gold Coast. As part of our continued growth, there may also be opportunities to support future expansion into the Gold Coast and Northern NSW regions.

This is a field-based role involving significant daily driving between customer sites. A fully maintained company vehicle, tools, and equipment are provided.

This role is ideal for someone with:

Basic computer repair or IT experience

Experience working with hardware, cables, and electronic equipment

A willingness to learn and develop technical skills

A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving

Training and support will be provided to help you build your skills and confidence in the field.

Key Responsibilities

Installing, replacing, and maintaining EFTPOS terminals, POS systems, pin pads, PCs, peripherals, scanner scales, and networking equipment

Attending customer sites to diagnose faults and complete repairs

Providing professional and friendly customer service while resolving technical issues

Completing equipment installations, upgrades, and replacements accurately and efficiently

Requirements
