Job summary

Ball & Doggett in Brendale, Queensland, is seeking a skilled Field Technician to install, service and repair digital print, finishing and production equipment. You will work across the Sign, Display and Digital team with national responsibility and advance technology.

You will diagnose electrical, mechanical and electronic faults, configure software, and complete service documentation. A current Australian driver license and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

• Relevant Electrical or Mechanical trade qualifications, or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment.
• Experience installing and servicing wide-format printers, CNC routers, laser cutting equipment or similar industrial machinery.
• Basic understanding of electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of wide-format printing applications and associated consumables is highly regarded.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Effective time management and organisational skills.
• A customer-focused approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a collaborative team.
• A current Australian Driver Licence and willingness to travel as required.
• Extensive training will be provided to the successful candidate, along with support and guidance in responding to customer enquiries and special requirements.
• Experience within the paper, packaging and printing industry would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, service, maintain and repair a range of digital print, finishing and production equipment.
• Install, maintain and troubleshoot CNC Router and Laser Cutter equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and electronic faults on a variety of equipment.
• Install, configure and support associated software and workflow solutions.
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing.
• Work collaboratively with the Service Coordinator, OEM partners and vendors to resolve issues.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
• Provide technical support and training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Complete service documentation accurately and promptly.
