Job summary

Metso Outotec is seeking a Field Service Technician (Pumps) to join our Service Operations team. You will provide hands-on mechanical service and technical support to customers along the East Coast, specialising in pumps and pumping systems.

Based in Tomago and Mackay, you will report to the Field Service Supervisor. The role covers field service at customer sites, workshop pump overhaul and repair, and collaboration with product divisions and sales to improve uptime and reliability.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Fitter trade qualification or equivalent.
• Experience maintaining, repairing or overhauling pumps, rotating equipment or heavy industrial machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Current driver's licence and ability to travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Complete pump inspections, condition assessments and technical evaluations.
• Perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, overhaul and repair of pumps and pumping systems.
• Diagnose equipment faults and identify practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Support planned shutdowns, breakdown maintenance and site service activities.
• Provide technical liaison between customers, product divisions and sales personnel.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
• Supervise and coordinate field service projects on customer sites.
• Promote Metso products, services and reliability solutions to customers.
• Participate in continuous improvement, quality and safety initiatives.
