Allight Pty Ltd is seeking a Field Service Technician / Diesel Mechanic based in Victoria to maintain, service and repair diesel equipment across mining, construction and infrastructure sectors. You will diagnose faults, perform rebuilds, and support customers with on-site technical guidance.

Qualifications

• Qualified mechanical tradesperson with diesel specialization.
• Current driver’s licence required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills.
• Experience servicing diesel-powered equipment preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Basic computer skills for service reporting and documentation.
• Positive, customer-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

The Role

Based in Victoria and reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, repair and overhaul of a range of diesel-powered equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Servicing and repairing generators, lighting towers, pumps and diesel engines
• Diagnosing mechanical and engine-related faults
• Completing equipment rebuilds and overhauls
• Preparing service reports and maintenance documentation
• Conducting commissioning, testing and equipment inspections
• Providing technical support to customers and internal stakeholders
• Ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard

What We're Looking For

We're keen to speak with qualified tradespeople who take pride in their work and enjoy solving technical challenges.

You'll bring:

• Mechanical trade qualification (Diesel, Mobile Plant, Heavy Vehicle or similar)
• Current driver's licence
• Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills
• Experience servicing diesel-powered equipment (highly regarded)
• Ability to work independently and manage your workload
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Basic computer skills for service reporting and documentation
• A positive, customer-focused attitude

Don't have extensive generator experience? No problem. If you have strong mechanical foundations and the right attitude, we'll provide product-specific training.
