Job summary

STM Trucks & Machinery Pty Ltd in Smeaton Grange NSW is seeking a trade-qualified Field Service Technician / Plant Mechanic to service and repair our plant equipment on-site across brands such as Kobelco, Merlo and New Holland.

Reporting to the Field Service Manager, you will diagnose faults, maintain records, and travel to customer sites while upholding safety standards. A current driver's licence and pre-employment medical are required.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified technician with mobile plant expertise.
• Experience diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults on plant equipment.
• Ability to work on-site across customer sites and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults on customer sites for Kobelco, ASV, Merlo, Hydrema and New Holland equipment.
• Carry out servicing and repairs in a time-sensitive, road-based environment.
• Maintain service vehicle, records and safety standards.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a trade-qualified Field Service Technician / Plant Mechanic to join our team at our Smeaton Grange branch, servicing customer equipment on-site across our plant equipment brands.

About the Role

Reporting to the Field Service Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out fault diagnosis, servicing and repairs on customer sites across our plant equipment range, including Kobelco, ASV, Merlo, Hydrema and New Holland machines. Your responsibilities will include:

• Undertaking fault diagnosis, servicing and repairs on customer sites in a time-sensitive, on-the-road environment
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults on plant equipment
• Maintaining the company service vehicle in a clean, safe and well-organised condition
• Communicating clearly with customers and the workshop team regarding job status and required parts
• Maintaining accurate service records, reports and documentation for all work performed
• Following established workplace health and safety procedures at all times

What You Will Need

• Trade qualification (Cert III in Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent)
• Current car driver's licence
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical
• Previous field service experience
• Experience with any of Kobelco, ASV, Merlo, Hydrema or New Holland equipment
• Strong hydraulics and/or auto-electrical fault-finding skills
