Hastings Deering – a leading Caterpillar dealer – is seeking a Field Service Fitter to support customers across civil, agriculture and mining sites in Emerald, Queensland. This permanent role offers flexible rosters and a vehicle, with allowances provided, to help you deliver high-quality repairs and maintenance on CAT machinery.

You will plan daily service requirements, complete paperwork accurately and travel between sites as needed, bringing strong diagnostic skills and a safety-first

Qualificações

• Trade qualifications in mobile plant or diesel fitter trade.
• CAT product knowledge and diagnostic tooling experience.
• Strong troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Customer-focused mindset with clear updates and expectations.
• Safety-first approach with high WHS standards.

About the Role

This is a permanent position offering flexible roster options, including 7/7, Monday to Friday, a 9-day fortnight or a 4-day week. You will support customers across a mix of civil, agriculture and mining sites, with a vehicle, Field Service Allowance and Area Allowance provided. This role would suit someone who lives in Emerald or the surrounding area.

About You

A successful teammate will have:

• Trade qualifications - Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology, Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent diesel fitter trade.


• Caterpillar product knowledge - experience working on CAT machinery, systems and diagnostic tooling.


• Strong troubleshooting skills - ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults independently.


• Customer-focused mindset - confident in building relationships, managing expectations and providing clear updates.


• Safety-first approach - committed to maintaining high WHS standards at all times.


• Valid driver's licence - required to travel between customer sites across the region.


• Site vaccination requirements - Current Q Fever and hepatitis A and B vaccinations, or willingness to obtain them, are required to work across agriculture and waste transfer sites.
