Job summary

ABB is seeking a Field Service Engineer in Melbourne, VIC to perform on-site service work with ABB standard processes, ensuring first-time-right execution. You will identify opportunities to improve customer operations, troubleshoot equipment, and prepare material lists for service activities.

The role requires an Electrical Engineer Degree with 2–4 years industry experience, preferably with switchgear, and familiarity with relays and protection, along with strong IT skills and customer-facing

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work with low to medium complexity as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. You will be mainly accountable for:

• Working with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer’s operations and eliminate pain points.

• Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products.

• Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.

• Troubleshooting equipment/process failures, requesting proactive corrective actions, and making recommendations to avoid such issues in the future.

Qualifications for the role

• Electrical Engineer Degree

• Electrical License preferred

• Minimum 2-4 years industry experience preferably with Switchgear

• Experience in relays and protection

• Skills – Computer literate being familiar with Microsoft and Windows

• Ability to amicably negotiate and provide good customer service
