Job summary

Optus is looking for a hands-on Network Engineer to join our Field Operations team based in Blacktown and surrounds, where you'll play a critical role in keeping Australia's network infrastructure running.

From service delivery and fault restoration to routine maintenance and facility management, you'll be the last line of defence for our customers - and a key contributor to a team that takes pride in getting things done right.

Qualifications

Technical qualification in Telecommunications Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Experience in fixed transmission networks and critical infrastructure.
Solid understanding of transmission and digital systems, switching and mobile technologies (5G).
Experience with DC systems, UPS, HVAC, and site facilities management.

Responsibilities

Perform service delivery, assurance, and preventative and corrective maintenance across switching, transmission, and mobile platforms.
Provide field and facility support for UPS, DC power, HVAC, generators, and building systems.
Respond to critical incidents and restore services within SLA for customers.
Monitor exchange and data centre environments and coordinate with vendors and contractors.
Support continuous improvement and training of new field engineers.
