Job summary

IT Alliance is seeking a Support Field Infrastructure Engineer to manage data centre facilities in Brisbane and Adelaide under an initial eight-month contract with potential extension. A baseline security clearance is required, and the role is hybrid with work in Canberra.

Key duties include providing technical guidance to project teams, driving service improvements, incident leadership, and coordinating infrastructure changes.

Qualifications

• Availability management level 4: Analyses service and component availability, reliability, maintainability and serviceability.
• IT infrastructure level 4: Provides technical expertise to enable the correct application of operational procedures.
• Problem management level 3: Investigates problems in systems, processes and services. Assists with remedies and preventative measures.
• Programming/software development level 2: Designs, codes, tests, documents and refactors simple programs/scripts.
• Systems design level 4: Designs system components using modelling techniques following architectures and standards.
• Systems installation and removal level 4: Manages complex installations and handovers with safety/quality adherence.

Responsibilities

• Providing technical advice and guidance to project teams and business representatives.
• Identifying and implementing service improvements for reliability, security and efficiency.
• Ensuring project deliverables meet Department timeframes.
• Working with Project Managers to define and schedule deliverables.
• Identifying risks, issues and opportunities for the business.
• Coordinating and delivering projects and technical activities.
• Coordinating and implementing infrastructure changes.
• Lead major incident responses and recovery activities.
• Troubleshooting of complex technical issues.
• Conducting root cause analysis of critical incidents.
• Scheduling and managing tasks, and reviewing technical changes.
