Job summary

Sandvik is seeking a Systems Technician – Automation and Newtrax in Kewdale, WA to deliver on-site technical support, commissioning, maintenance and repair of AutoMine and Newtrax systems across a broad customer base. You will install, commission and optimise automation and collision avoidance hardware in field and workshop environments.

The role involves fault diagnosis, field trials, collaboration with internal teams, and reporting while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering automation system support in mining or heavy industry.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Willingness to work on-site across field and workshop environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, maintain, and repair AutoMine and Newtrax systems at customer sites and in workshops.
• Provide high-level technical support to customers, operators, and service personnel.
• Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on mining equipment.
• Conduct fault finding and root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Support field trials, upgrades, and commissioning of new products.
• Engage with customers as a trusted technical advisor and ensure clear communication.
• Collaborate with Automation, Engineering, and Service teams to share insights.
• Maintain knowledge of automation systems, networking, and IT applications.
• Complete reporting and documentation in line with safety and quality standards.
