Job summary

Optus is seeking a Senior Manager Network Operations for Federal Government clients in Australia. You will lead Tier 2 and Tier 3 network engineers, driving proactive, automation-first operations and ensuring service reliability and customer outcomes.

The role requires an NV1/NV2 security clearance or eligibility, and a track record of delivering operational excellence in large-scale managed services or network operations within regulated environments.

Qualifications

• NV1/NV2 Federal Government security clearance or eligibility.
• Minimum 12 years’ technical specialist or engineering experience in large-scale ITIL-aligned managed services or network operations.
• Extensive leadership experience leading large, multi-disciplinary technical teams in complex enterprise environments.
• Deep technical expertise across network engineering, service assurance, incident management, observability, and operational delivery.
• Proven success driving operational transformation through automation, AI-led operations, proactive monitoring, and intelligent event management.
• Experience working within Federal Government or highly regulated environments with security & governance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing team of Tier 2 and Tier 3 Network Engineers.
• Own delivery and service assurance of Managed Network Services and meet SLAs and performance targets.
• Drive transformation to intelligence-led, automation-first operations using automation and observability.
• Act as senior technical escalation authority for critical incidents and major service events.
• Build secure, compliant, and scalable Federal Government operations capability.
• Influence roadmaps by partnering with Product, Network, Security, Client Delivery and vendors to improve performance and customer outcomes.
