Job summary

Optus in Sydney is seeking a Manager Network Operations for the Federal Government to lead a team of Tier 2 and 3 engineers, ensuring delivery, performance, and continuous improvement of Managed Network Services for government customers.

The role also serves as the senior escalation authority, driving automation-first operations, upholding security and governance, and collaborating with Product, Network, Security, Client Delivery, and vendors to meet SLAs and drive innovation.

Qualifications

• NV1/NV2 security clearance eligibility.
• Minimum 12 years’ technical specialist or engineering experience in large-scale managed services or network operations.
• Extensive leadership experience of large multi-disciplinary technical teams within complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing team of Tier 2 and 3 Network Engineers.
• Own delivery and service assurance of Managed Network Services for Federal Government customers.
• Drive transformation to intelligence-led, automation-first operations with AI and observability capabilities.
• Act as senior technical escalation authority for critical incidents and major service events.
• Build and maintain secure, compliant Federal Government operations capabilities.
