Job summary

Optus is seeking a Manager Network Operations for Federal Government, to lead Tier 2/3 engineers, drive proactive managed services, and deliver measurable customer outcomes. The role emphasizes automation, AI-led operations, security governance, and strong stakeholder collaboration.

You will oversee service delivery, incident management, and performance improvement for government clients, with flexible hybrid work arrangements and a focus on capability uplift and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 12+ years’ technical specialist or engineering experience in large-scale ITIL-aligned managed services or network operations.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary technical teams in complex enterprise environments.
• NV1/NV2 security clearance or eligibility to obtain and maintain clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing team of Tier 2 and Tier 3 Network Engineers, driving technical excellence, capability uplift, and a culture of accountability.
• Own the delivery and service assurance of Managed Network Services, ensuring proactive monitoring, rapid incident resolution, governance, and SLAs.
• Drive the transformation to intelligence-led, automation-first operations using automation, AI, and observability to improve reliability and reduce manual effort.
• Act as the senior technical escalation authority for critical incidents and major service events, providing leadership and communication.
• Build and maintain a secure, compliant Federal Government operations capability with engineering standards and security obligations.
• Influence roadmaps by partnering with Product, Network, Security, Client Delivery, and vendors to enhance service and innovation.
