Job summary
Katherine West Health Board is recruiting a Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence Healing Practitioner to deliver trauma-informed outreach case management across remote Katherine West communities. You will work with a multidisciplinary team, applying culturally safe approaches and engaging with Aboriginal communities to strengthen support pathways.
Applicants should have a relevant degree and be eligible for AASW or AHPRA registration, with a strong commitment to self-determination and cultural
Qualifications
- Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Mental Health Nursing, Social Science or related field.
- Eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or registration with AHPRA.
- Understanding Aboriginal cultural values and commitment to self-determination.
Responsibilities
- Provide trauma-informed, culturally safe outreach social work services to victim-survivors of FDSV across remote communities.
- Offer evidence-based and culturally appropriate case management for victims with complex social needs.
- Collaborate with Aboriginal staff, cultural advisors, and stakeholders to ensure culturally safe responses.
- Support delivery of culturally safe FDSV education and awareness activities in the region.
- Work within the NT Risk Assessment and Management Framework to align with best practice.
