Job summary

Agri Talent is seeking an experienced broadacre farmer to lead a well-established 5000 ha operation near Moree, NSW. You will work with the owners to set strategy, plan for the current season and capital works, and execute the plan with an experienced team of four.

Key responsibilities include deep crop management, irrigation, pest and disease control, harvesting, staff management, and proactive machinery maintenance. The role offers a substantial remuneration package for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience as a broad acre farmer or equivalent farming experience to run a large operation.
• Deep crop management including planting, irrigating, pest and disease management and harvesting.
• Staff management and stakeholder coordination.

Responsibilities

• Work with owners to set strategy and plan for current season and capital works for future seasons.
• Execute the plan to run the operation as if it were your own.
• Communicate effectively with owners and the team to ensure flawless execution.
• Oversee machinery maintenance and water management within the farm operation.

Job description

Our client is looking to step back and reclaim time together as a family. This well run, established 5000 ha, broadacre farming operation as been with the owners for 41 years, has water for 1400 ha of cotton and the remainder dryland.

This is a genuine opportunity to run your own operation. The owner will not be on farm and will trust you to run the operation as if it was your own. There is an experienced, established team of 4 and the equipment is in excellent condition.

To be Considered

First and foremost you must be an experienced broad acre farmer or have farming experience that would credibly allow you to run such an operation. Working with the owners to set the strategy and plan for the current season and capital works for the future seasons. Your role will be to execute the plan. You will have

• Deep crop management skills, planting irrigating pest and disease management and harvesting.
• Staff management - involving stakeholders, planning, assigning tasks, reviewing recognising and rewarding
• Machinery and Maintenance - overseeing the proactive maintenance plan, and correct use of equipment.
• Water management, safety management and farming data.

Your ability to communicate with the owners, execute flawlessly and be respected by the team will set you apart.
