Agri Talent Pty is seeking an Assistant Farm Manager for a family-owned farming business near Moree, NSW, managing over 2,000 hectares of irrigated country. You’ll work closely with the family as the operational 2IC, coordinating irrigation, cropping, machinery and staff with real potential to progress into broader farm management.
You will supervise around five staff, oversee siphon irrigation, participate in planting, spraying, crop monitoring and harvesting, and ensure WHS compliance.
Your Employer Our client is a family-owned farming business operating more than 2,000 hectares of irrigated country near Moree, NSW. Cotton is the major crop, supported by wheat, sorghum, canola and chickpeas within an intensive mixed-cropping program. Most farming operations are completed in-house, giving you broad exposure across irrigation, machinery and cropping. You’ll work directly alongside the family in a practical, supportive environment where good work is recognised with trust, responsibility and genuine opportunities to progress into farm management.
The Role As Assistant Farm Manager, you will be the operational 2IC, working closely with the family to coordinate day-to-day activities across irrigation, cropping, machinery and staff. This is a hands-on role with genuine responsibility and the opportunity to develop into broader farm management as your knowledge of the property grows. Your duties will include (but not be limited to):
About You You will bring proven irrigated cotton experience and practical siphon irrigation knowledge, combined with the ability to lead people and stay actively involved in the work yourself. You'll be mechanically capable, attentive to detail and comfortable taking ownership of daily operations while still working closely with the farming family. Importantly, you don't necessarily need to have held an Assistant Farm Manager title previously. The family is open to someone who has already demonstrated leadership and is ready to take the next step into a broader management role.

Other certification/licences desired for the role include a valid driver's licence and Chem Cert. HR licence, grader, excavator and truck experience will also be highly regarded.
