Job summary

Act for Kids Morayfield is seeking a full-time Child and Family Practitioner to support children and families affected by domestic and family violence. The role works with a Safe Families Team to coordinate services, deliver psychoeducational group programs, and collaborate with other professionals to achieve family goals.

You will bring a relevant degree, professional registration if required, and experience with trauma-informed practice to empower families and promote safety.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary degree in allied health, social work or human services.
  • Professional registration (if required).
  • Membership in a professional association desirable.
  • Safe and Together training desired.
  • 3+ years with trauma-affected children/families or 5+ years in similar roles.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia and required checks (WWCC).

Job description

Child and Family Practitioner (DFV) – Morayfield

We are excited to welcome a full-time Child and Family Practitioner to our Morayfield Safe Families Team! In this role, you will work collaboratively to provide wrap around support to children and families impacted by Domestic and Family Violence.

  • ·Salary range: $105,578 - $110,360 + Superannuation.
  • ·Full-time, permanent position.
Key Responsibilities:
  • ·Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to ensure families’ goals are achieved.
  • ·Support the coordination of group training programs within the Safe Families Program.
  • ·Deliver group training programs that provide psychoeducation for families experiencing domestic and family violence such as Women’s Empowerment Groups, Safe and Together, Youth Love Bites, Shark Cage.

About You
  • ·A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline (allied health, social work, human services).
  • ·Professional registration (if required).
  • ·Membership of a relevant professional association (desirable).
  • ·Safe and Together Training (desired).
  • ·At least 3 years’ experience working with children, young people and their families who have been impacted by trauma or have experienced abuse and neglect, or more than five years’ experience working in similar roles.
  • ·Demonstrated specialist skills in working in family and domestic violence particularly working both with parents who use violence, and those experiencing violence.
  • ·Eligibility to work in Australia (proof of eligibility required), including holding or obtaining required checks (Working with Children Check or professional exemption).
