Job summary

Brian F Davis & Associates (BDI) is seeking a factual investigator contractor for workers' compensation inquiries across NSW. The role pays competitive rates for investigation, travel, and report-writing time, with a requirement to hold NSW Class 2E licence and CPP30619 certification.

Work is predominantly remote and matter-by-matter in nature. Applicants must have a valid ABN, appropriate insurance, and a willingness to obtain a Working With Children Check before first matter.

Qualifications

• Must hold NSW Class 2E licence issued by SLED.
• Certificate III in Investigative Services (CPP30619) required.
• ABN and trading status as sole trader or company.
• Current professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Interview workers, witnesses and employers across NSW in person, by phone or video.
• Take signed statements in physical-injury, psychological-injury and workplace-conduct matters.
• Obtain and collate employer and claim documents.
• Write factual reports to insurer templates and deadlines.
• Maintain running sheet and time records; liaise with case manager.

Job description

Factual Investigator (Contractor) for workers' compensation investigations across NSW. Work is offered matter by matter as an independent contractor, paid at competitive rates for investigation, travel and report-writing time. You must already hold a current NSW Class 2E (Private Investigator) licence to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Interview workers, witnesses and employers across NSW, in person and by phone or video
• Take signed statements at interview, in physical-injury, psychological-injury and workplace-conduct matters
• Obtain and collate employer and claim documents
• Write factual reports to the insurer's template and to statutory deadlines, keeping a clear line between facts, allegations and conclusions
• Keep a running sheet and time records; liaise with the case manager

About you

• Current NSW Class 2E licence issued by SLED
• Certificate III in Investigative Services (CPP30619)
• ABN, trading as a sole trader or company
• Current professional indemnity and public liability insurance (certificates of currency)
• Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain one before your first matter
• Driver's licence, reliable vehicle, laptop, phone and a secure home workspace
• Reliable, a good communicator, and able to work to defined deadlines
