Job summary

The Australian National Botanic Gardens (ANBG) in Canberra is seeking a Facilities & Assets Support Officer to maintain buildings, assets and infrastructure across the ANBG site. You will work as part of a team, undertake maintenance tasks, and coordinate with contractors to support planned and reactive works.

The successful candidate will develop site knowledge, apply WHS policies, read technical drawings, and share on-call duties to support operations outside standard hours.

Responsibilities

• Maintain buildings, fixtures, furniture and equipment, reporting maintenance needs.
• Coordinate and assist with contractor works and approvals.
• Carry out facilities, asset and infrastructure maintenance tasks including carpentry, painting and plumbing.
• Coordinate site access, inductions and liaise with contractors undertaking maintenance.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications.
• Participate in on-call duties to support site operations and risk reporting.
