Job summary

Australian National Botanic Gardens in Canberra seeks an Assistant Director to lead the Living Collections & Assets team, overseeing in-ground conservation collections, landscapes, facilities and assets to keep the national institution open to the public seven days a week.

You will set priorities, guide operations and drive innovative approaches while collaborating with ANBG leaders to deliver the Gardens' mission.

Qualifications

• Valid Australian motor vehicle driver's licence.
• Australian citizenship is required.
• Baseline Vetting security clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Lead Living Collections & Assets team to conserve collections and manage facilities.
• Plan and deliver site operations, annual work programs and budgets.
• Promote WHS compliance and emergency management.
• Support capital works, procurement and contract management.
• Collaborate with ANBG teams to support living collection and conservation programs.
• Participate in ANBG leadership and implement Management Plan.
• Ensure accurate records and data integrity across systems.
• Provide expert horticultural and facilities advice to projects.
• Represent ANBG with stakeholders and networks.
• Prepare briefings and materials for executive leadership.
