Job summary

Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) is recruiting for a facilities maintenance role in Canberra. The role focuses on maintenance planning, coordinating contractors, and delivering a range of trades across facilities and infrastructure assets.

You will contribute to safeguarding plant infrastructure, report maintenance needs, and participate in on-call rosters to support site operations outside standard hours.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities and asset maintenance.
• Ability to coordinate and complete approved works with contractors.
• Exposure to carpentry, painting, paving, plumbing, irrigation, and other trade tasks.

Responsibilities

• Identify and report maintenance requirements and assist with coordinating and completing approved works.
• Undertake a range of facilities, asset and infrastructure maintenance activities including carpentry, painting, paving, plumbing, irrigation and other trade related works.
• Assist with maintenance of mechanical, electrical, lighting and pumping infrastructure systems.
• Share in rostered on-call duties to support site operational needs out of standard working hours.

Job description

Working as part of a team and under general direction, the position undertakes maintenance activities, assists with contractor coordination and contributes to both planned and reactive maintenance works.

Key responsibilities

• We directly contribute to safe-guarding Australia's plant species from extinctions and are responsible for leading, building and sharing knowledge of our Australian flora.
• In this role you will be responsible for: Identify and report maintenance requirements and assist with coordinating and completing approved works.
