Job summary

Good Sammy Enterprises in Perth, WA, Australia, seeks a Full Time Facilities and Assets Manager to lead maintenance and assets across premises. The role oversees security, safety, and lifecycle management, with a hands-on approach and strategic planning aligned to our disability-focused mission.

You will supervise staff, manage contracts with facilities providers, coordinate contractors, and drive continuous improvement in maintenance practices while ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead and motivate teams.
• Previous experience as a tradesman / handyman or in building maintenance.
• Working at heights certificate.
• Sound computer knowledge.
• Current MR class and forklift licences.
• Able to plan and execute work to meet deadlines.
• Experience supervising staff.
• Calm and organised mindset to manage multiple projects.
• Analytical and numerate with clear written and verbal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, develop and implement Good Sammy’s Facilities Master Plan in line with the organisation’s strategic objectives.
• Create and foster a high-performance and safety conscious culture amongst Workshop staff.
• Manage contract negotiations with major suppliers of facilities management services to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
• Manage the preventative maintenance program and ensure all activities are carried out on time.
• Review hazard inspection checklists and carry out repairs and maintenance as required.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the Maintenance team.
• Ensure maintenance personnel are VOC on required equipment.
• Assist with risk assessments on new plants.
• Coordinate all relevant contractors, subcontractors and casual trade personnel.
• Manage contractors' insurance, qualifications and ensure site documentation is current.
• Coordinate work schedules and collaborate with internal Good Sammy departments and stakeholders to ensure minimal disruptions.
• Support, coordinate and oversee existing premises refits and new premises fitouts.
• Support Retail Area Managers, Store Managers and CDS site supervisors with liaising with all leasing Property Managers to ensure building maintenance is completed.
• Provide maintenance input to lease renewal process.
• Oversee Security and CCTV for all premises, including out of hours.
• Manage fire detection system and maintenance for Canning Vale.
• Comply with company policies, procedures and service standards.
• Additional duties outside regular hours, including urgent maintenance issues.
• Be prepared to have a hands-on approach for all maintenance issues.
• Manage the CV cleaning team and schedule the cleaning of external premises as required.
• Complete staff daily timesheets.
• Procurement as per Delegations of Authority.
