Job summary

CMV Truck & Bus Dandenong is seeking an experienced fabricator to join our Service / PreDelivery workshop. You will perform fabrication and fit-out work on new trucks prior to delivery, in a modern workshop and with a broad range of tasks.

The role requires trade qualifications in metal fabrication or welding, automotive experience, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work to deadlines. Current driver’s license is required, HR/HC preferred.

Qualifications

• Trade qualifications in Metal Fabrication, Welding, Body Building or a related trade.
• Trade related experience in automotive industry.
• Workshop related experience preferred.
• A commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in your work.
• Ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Current Driver's Licence
• HR/HC Drivers Licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with repair, manufacture or modify mechanical parts of trucks and trailers such as suspensions, chassis, and brackets.
• Assist with fabrication / welding tasks - such as fitting of weight gauges, bumper bars, wheel base modification works, and the like.
• Ensure all accessories requested on repair orders are fitted and completed.
• Identify and advise of any additional work required.
• Ensure work completed is checked and good quality.
• Produce clear and concise report detailing all work carried out on repair orders including supplies used and recommendations in a prioritised order.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality and workmanship.

We are currently seeking an experienced and trade-qualified Fabricator worker to join our Service / PreDelivery Department, where you'll play a key role in preparing and customising some of the best trucks on the market.

About the Role

Working in a modern, well-equipped workshop, you will be responsible for producing high-quality fabrication and fit-out work on new trucks prior to delivery. This is an engaging, hands-on role that offers diverse work and the opportunity to develop your skills across a range of tasks.

Key Responsibilities
